Fair Trade

Have you heard about Fair Trade before?
Actually, it rings a bell but I can't explain it.
I read the article of fair trade and discussed in English conversation class which I have been taking once a week since July.
First of all, what is fair trade? It means the the movement to try to make good use of their profit which was received from buying the developing countries agricultural products and folkcraft in fair price for ecology.

In Japan,it has not been familier, however, in Europe and North America. fair trade products are ubiquitous. In Britain, there are Britain's Fair Trade Foundation, also, London has been declared the bigesst fair trade city in the world. You will find fair trade products at churches, workplaces and cities.
As for Scotland, it seems to become the world's first fair trade country.
However, in the case of Japan, fair trade products are found just in special place like speciality shops, online or local co-operatices.
But under this poor condition, some of the groups are plugging at fair trade. If you are interested in, visit some homepage and read the article.

By the way, why aren't Japanese interested in fair trade so much?
There are some reasons which is possible.;

1. Japanese don't appreciate receiving benefits by the internationalization introvered because of characteristic.
2.We had not planted any colonies before unlike Britain or France.
3.We don't assist developing countries even though Japan is developed country, because depression are coming to a crisis.

In my case, the main point is that we are not sure the whereabouts of money which we paid for fair trade products. Because the company which runs fair trade might profit and commit an injustice. Certainly I understand we can support poor people by buying fair trade products even high price.

However, now, the world are changing for internationalization, therefore we need to think about the world peace.
